An amazing victory by Chelsea a few days ago sent Southend packing with a terrific 4-1 score! Starting with a goal from Southend player, Adam Barrett, the game started to look bleak for Chelsea until an equaliser from the shin of Michael Ballack stole Southend’s clean sheet. Soon Salomon Kalou broke the tie and Chelsea’s victory was on its way. Goals from Nicholas Anelka and Frank Lampard sealed the deal and Southend was done for. After the match, Ashley Cole was interviewed and said that Chelsea fought for the manager (you can listen to the interview here). Now Chelsea is safely into the next round but for Southend it’s back to the drawing board.
