Firstly I attended a specialist course to deal with survival, this course was designed for those who might be asked to work behind enemy lines.

The course was for a month and during this time I was taught by some of the best people who know how to navigate by using the environment ie, the stars, trees and general foliage. Then by an old woman who knew what to eat in the forest (berries, bushes, leaves and mushrooms). It then moved on to interrogation and what to expect. The course culminated in a week long escape and evasion, were I was tracked by other soldiers who tried to catch me, I had nothing expect a survival tin (as big as a cigarette box). I had to live from the land and eat what I caught.

I have lived in and had lessons by the local Eban tribesmen in the Jungle (Amazon).

Lived in the Desert (Gobi) and worked with nomadic tribes.

I have lived in the Arctic, worked and lived with local Norwegian people in snow holes that I built (watched the Northern Lights, fell into a freezing lake).

This apart I have worked in a peace keeping role (Bosnia, Kosovo) trying to keep warring people apart. In a fighting role (Iraq 1 and 2, Afghanistan, Sierra Leon, Congo) and lots of Adventure training (rock climbing, skiing, pot holing, sky diving, mountain walking summer and winter)
