You may have seen the posters spread around the school about a Spelling Bee; but what is it? A spelling bee is a competition where people compete with others to prove who is the best spelling wizard. This particular competition is being run by the Times and is for children in Y7 from all over the nation and the prize is to be on national television and edit a REAL Times article. The tryouts to pick our team took place on Wednesday13thJanuary and involved a spelling test with frequently misspelt words. Our team (which is yet to be named), is composed of William G, Nicolas A, Emilio, Ricardo and Alex T; all in Y7.  The competition starts in March so our eager insects will be hard at work revising their spellings. For more information and some fun spelling games to boot, go to The Times Spelling Bee  website.
